This project addresses the spatial and social consequences of the United Fruit Company's monopolization
of transportation infrastructure in Guatemala, particularly in the town of Tiquisate.
The town's fragmentation is met with a vision of regenerative infrastructure that prioritizes formal and informal mobility. community spaces, sustainable bamboo construction, and pedestrian connectivity.
The master plan approach aims on a phase-by-phase basis to give the necessary tools to the ever-growing community of Tiquisate.
Through six targeted interventions along Tiquisate's main artery and four mobility-focused strategies, including regional bus and paratransit stations. integrated markets, and tuk-tuk lanes. The project aims to transform exploitation into empowerment through urban design.
